Always wash the body of a car from the top down that way soap scum and sludge don’t muck up freshly washed areas. Give the entire roof of the car a good rub with the help of sponge and soapy water.

Drying your car after washing is necessary to prevent water spots. Water spots are caused by mineral deposits that etch the outline of a drop of water into your car paint. When the water evaporates, the minerals in the water remain on the surface and create water spots. Use a cotton cloth to wipe off the water. Dry the windows and mirrors first with paper towel. Wipe around all doors, lift gate, hood, trunk and your gas filler door. Dry your wheels using a towel that is made just for this purpose. Wash the towel before you use it again.
